Cocodeli Hojicha Powder is sourced directly from the Uji region (Kyoto Prefecture), which sits on the southeast border of the city of Kyoto, and is the oldest and most premier matcha growing region in Japan.

"Houji" means roast and "cha" means tea. As with the name of this tea, hojicha is manufactured by roasting tea leaves at a high temperature. While it doesn't provide the same vibrant green color addition to recipes, the taste is equally delicious. Hojicha has a smooth and mellow nutty flavor with a pleasant roasted aroma.

Hojicha has low caffeine and no grassy taste that some non-green tea drinkers don't enjoy, making it ideal for children.

This powdered form of green tea can easily dissolve to add a delicious, healthy boost to things like smoothies, milk, baked goods and other dishes.
